Taking a break on some rocks, they chat about friendship and what it means to each other, before deciding what sort of clown they would have been. Setting off in a boat, the pair fish long and hard and reflect about how the surroundings look vaguely Canadian in their grandeur, inspiring a song on the spot. Paul and Bob take a sleeper train to the Scottish Highlands and wake in the stunning vista of the North West Scotland, where the pine forests and snow topped mountains almost take their breath away. They'r on a quest to fish for Ferox Trout, which is a tall order for any angler, but they are in the right place, the River Garry, where a local guide will help them. Although as they talk about feeling old they are also pretending to be vampires with nuts as fangs and Bob even downs a lemonade in one, just to check he doesn’t want to be a whippersnapper again, so they are not exactly aging gracefully! Bob also races dog Ted, thinking it will be an easy victory, but there’s plenty of life in the old dog yet. In idyllic surroundings the conversation turns to the fact that they are both getting on a bit and no longer enjoy doing the things that young people do. With no luck on the fishing front on the River Exe, the next day the pair travels to Bossington Beach on the Bristol channel to try their hand at shore fishing for the first time and Bob catches an eel! "We don’t catch many fish but those that we catch are spectacular!’ reveals and excited Bob.īob and Paul head to the River Dee in North Wales in the hope of catching a grayling, a fish Paul has never caught before. After a morning of mixed success, Bob finds a shady corner to prepare a vegan lunch for them both, using a special blend of car meat.
